Grants of up to $750,000 available to food manufacturers to expand or relocate to WA

Western Australian food and drink makers have been invited to apply for the second round of the state’s $7 million Value Added Investment Grants scheme.

WA Grants Program of the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) provide matching funding to businesses in the agriculture, agri-food and beverage sector through two project streams:

  • Feasibility Stream grants range from $30,000 to $100,000 and support projects aimed at planning and de-risking potential future business capital investments; and
  • Capital Investment Stream grants are between $250,000 and $750,000 to help”expand, diversify or move value adding and processing operations to WA. »

According to a statement released Wednesday by the state’s Agriculture and Food Minister, Alannah MacTiernan, the grant scheme was “helping Western Australian food and drink processors and manufacturers to adapt to the increasingly complex demands of today’s highly dynamic operating environment to forge new ways of doing business and capturing opportunities.”

Applications for the feasibility stream close at 5 p.m. (AWST) on June 8 and 5 p.m. (AWST) on June 22.
