Launch of the first-ever international food technology exhibition at the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park

Sharjah – The first three-day international food technology exhibition, bringing together 60 specialist companies, as well as experts and chefs from around the world, kicked off today at the Research, Technology and Innovation (SRTI) Park in Sharjah. Sharjah.

The first event of its kind in the region focuses on technological innovations in food, in addition to highlighting Sharjah’s status as an ideal location for food technology investments and a preferred destination for investors.

The opening ceremony was followed by the guest of honor and dignitaries visiting the various stands, followed by B2B meetings. In the afternoon, there were two seminars on “Quality Assurance, Food Safety and Hygiene” and “Good Storage Practices and Supply Chain”. The day ended with the launch of Cooking Fiesta and events such as Chef Battle Championship and a cooking contest.

Tuesday’s Day 2 program includes two seminars on organic food and entrepreneurship – Dubai Youth Council, as well as the Master Chef Cooking Competition and the Cooking Fiesta. Day 3’s program will feature the same events, plus business meetings and visits to SRTI Park.

HE Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of SRTI Park, said that the objective of the exhibition is to support all research and innovation in advanced technologies for food with emphasis on safety and self-sufficiency of members of society, as part of the national food security strategy, particularly in emergency and crisis situations. The development of food and agricultural systems with modern technologies is one of the main pillars of the UAE’s strategy to find solutions to the problems of agriculture and food production.

The event attracted more than 60 specialized companies from all over the world and a group of speakers and experts participating in specialized workshops. There are stands dedicated to entrepreneurs and international celebrities from the culinary world.

The exhibition also includes cooking competitions and a number of related events. The exhibit also features food trucks serving foods of various flavors.

The exhibition also focuses on the growing role of e-commerce in the food sector, the sustainability of resources and the pace of growing demand for healthy foods. The international exhibition will also address a series of emerging topics on creating a better future for the sector, through modern technologies, improving food systems, diversity and sustainability.
