About Pontus Protein Ltd.

Pontus Protein Ltd. is a Vancouver, BC based on agricultural technology that will allow millions of people to rethink their food choices while helping people do good in the world. By providing sustainably grown, nutritious and delicious plant-based food options, we are helping this type of diet become the norm.

Pontus is reinventing agriculture with its exclusive closed environment vertical aquaponics system (CEVAS) – the agriculture of the future. Pontus specializes in the vertical indoor cultivation of duckweed which uses 95% less water than traditional agriculture and without pesticides or chemicals. Pontus is committed to solving the global food crisis by providing access to biosafe and sustainable pure plant protein indoors. Pontus duckweed can be harvested every 24 hours, exceeds organic certification, and can be grown in any climate in a relatively small area. Our duckweed protein is loaded with antioxidants, minerals, vitamins and all amino acids making it a complete food source of protein. Pontus aims to revolutionize the vegetable sector because the entire sector currently relies on two main sources of protein: soybeans and peas. Duckweed protein is far superior to pea and soy protein. It contains more than 40% protein compared to 5-36% protein*, and Pontus aims to be the base protein for plant-based food products, leading the movement to transition from the world of meat-based proteins to plant-based proteins.
