Rising food manufacturer supply chain R&D – data

Supply chain and logistics research and innovation in the food manufacturing sector is on the rise.

The most recent figures show that the number of patent applications focused on supply chain and logistics in the industry stood at 11 in the three months ending in October, compared to eight in the same period. Last year.

However, the numbers for patents granted followed a different pattern from applications, dropping from three in the three months ending in October last year to two this year.

The analysis is compiled by GlobalData, which tracks patent filings and grants from official offices around the world. Using textual analysis, along with official patent classifications, these patents are grouped into key thematic areas and linked to key companies in various industries.

The numbers also provide a snapshot of the industry’s top innovators.

Japanese company Mitsubishi Corp. filed eight supply chain and logistics related patents in the three months ending in October. This was up from zero compared to the same period last year.

It was followed by Nestlé, Mars and another Japan-based food group Ajinomoto, each with apps.
